Benjamin Rice

Managing Director

Benjamin Rice is the Managing Director and Founder of Coherics, bringing more than a decade of operational experience as a Royal Australian Air Force officer and a proven track record in delivering innovative and integrated training system solutions to Defence and industry.

A graduate of the Australian Defence Force Academy with a Bachelor of Technology (Aviation) and a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Benjamin has served as an Air Battle Manager, Qualified Aviation Instructor, and Air Liaison Officer.

Over his 13-year RAAF career, he operated in complex, high-pressure environments, from managing multi-crew missions on E-7A Wedgetail aircraft to leading specialist flight training at the RAAF’s School of Air Warfare. His time embedded within the Defence Science & Technology Group’s Aerospace Division saw him provide high-end warfighting, command and control subject matter expertise, lead multi-PhD research teams, and drive the development of advanced Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) training integration.

As Managing Director at Coherics, Benjamin leads a team of industry specialists dedicated to integrating people, processes, and technology into cohesive training solutions. He combines evidence-based methodology with deep operational insight to ensure training systems are not only fit-for-purpose but fully interoperable across Defence environments.
His work encompasses requirements analysis, systems design, project delivery, and strategic consulting - always with a focus on creating seamless, integrated solutions that enhance capability, reduce cost, and accelerate readiness.

Benjamin has published multiple training articles and presented at national and international forums, contributing to innovation and thought leadership in the military training domain. His leadership philosophy is built on fostering collaboration, encouraging professional curiosity, and empowering his team to deliver outcomes that exceed client expectations.

Outside of work, Benjamin serves as Chair of the Board for Access2Arts, championing accessibility and inclusion in the arts for people with disabilities.
He retains a lifelong passion for music and shares creative pursuits with his son, Theodore, including Lego building, model painting, and tackling complex board games together.
